McNeil Shelter

MT HOOD, OREGON -- July 30, 2006

Nance and I chanced hiking up to the shelter on an overcast, cool and at

times rainy day. The weather was fall-like with clouds obscuring the views.

The wildflowers were prolific in the higher meadows. We took the Timberline

Trail and avoided the steep ridge trail so we probably hiked 11 miles with about

2,400 feet gain/loss. Click on July 16th to see pictures from a clearer day.
