Tom-Dick ridge
near Mt. Hood, Oregon , January 1, 2008
Forty-two of us went out on the first day of the year. The snow was soft and deep,
but the winds were cruel. We turned around as we got close to the start of
the ridge. The winds were blowing snow and ice, making the trek a bitter slog.
We trekked 4 miles and took 2:30 to do that with snow over our knees at times.
