White River Ridge Loop
Mt. Hood, OR , March 1, 2008
Ten of went out on my last scheduled Mazama snowshoe for the season. The wheather was overcast and
snowing when we started. As we went up the canyon, the snow stopped and there were glimmers of
sunshine. The new snow was six to ten inches deep and only one snowshoer proceeded us as we
went up the canyon. We went up the steep ridge-side, staying in the trees to minimize our risk of creating
an avalanche. We had lunch at to ridgetop and then followed the ridge back down and rejoined the trail
near the junction of the yellowjacket and boyscout ridge trails. We had pristine snow back. Wonderful!!!
