Ghost Ridge
near Mt. Hood, OR , March 29, 2008
John and I did a spur of the moment snowshoe trek this Saturday. The weather in town was
looking wet and blustery, so we drove to Barlow Pass and followed the PCT for a mile
and then went off-trail into three foot deep snow. Since there were only two of us, we took
it slow and changed leads to find our way to the top. It had only taken us less than 40 minutes
on the PCT, but breaking new trail to the top took us another hour and fifteen minutes.
It was some of the best snow of the season, but it took a lot of energy to get to the top.
