Gornergrat

above Zermatt, Switzerland

Five of us took the Gornergrat cog-rail train up to Gornergrat (elevation 3,130 m) from Zermatt (elevation 1,620 m).

After taking multiple pictures of the surrounding mountains and especially the Matterhorn, we then hiked the trail down

to Riffleberg (elevation 2,582 m) after interim stops at Rotenboden and Riflesee Lake. Total distance about 5 miles.
