Breithorn

Six of us took three sets of cable lifts up to the small Matterhorn (elevation 3,883 m) from Zermatt (elevation 1,620 m)

and then joined seemingly hundreds of others to climb up to the summit of the Breithorn (elevation 4,164 m). Climbing

less than 1,000 feet doesn't typically seem like much, but starting at 12,500 feet does make for thin air. We roped up at

10:00 am and made the summit at 11:10 am. We took pictures, rested and were back to the lift just before 12:30 pm.
