McNeil Point

Sue and I hiked up to the McNeil Shelter on this picture perfect day. Six weeks before I had

ventured out and found massive amounts of snow remaining from the winter. Much of that snow

has now melted, but this was the first time I've seen snow still remaining in the tarns this late.

We went up the climbers trail to the shelter, had a snack and returned via user trails to the

Timberline trail, rejoining the Top Spur trail after four miles. Total RT 9.6 miles. click here for map.
