Split
Croatia -- September 9-11, 2009
I stayed in a small inn (5 rooms) near the harbor. It only took 5 minutes to walk to the open
markets and Diocleatian's Palace. The palace was built in the 300's and over the years has
been annexed by people who used it's walls and base structure to create their own shelter.
Once you go off the main roads, the paths between the buildings and homes are quite narrow
and are clear of cars. Motor scooters are the preferred transportation for many homes.
The weather was in the 80's for the four days I stayed and dining outside was pleasant.
